Nollie Judith “Judy” Walker, 77, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in her residence.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Nollie Judith “Judy” Walker will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at Houston River Baptist Church in Sulphur.

Officiating will be Reverend Lonnie Gothrup, pastor of Houston River Baptist Church, where she was an active member. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday in the church, and will resume at 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the church.

Judy loved her church, her church family and loved serving the Lord while helping those in need. She taught the Merry Widows Sunday School Class and Vacation Bible School classes. She participated in choir and many other church related activities throughout the different seasons of her life. She was a Houston River Maverick at heart.

The family of Judy Walker would like to extend a special thanks to Heart of Hospice and to her personal care giver, Barbara Brooks, for their services during her time of need. Their caring service was a blessing to both Judy and her family.

Judy was born on September 2, 1939, in Norfolk Virginia, to Ellie Morse and Hazel Mae Peltier of Sulphur. Judy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curry Burk “C.B.” Walker, Jr. Judy left behind four children, Deborah Elaine Renfroe and husband Robert Clifton, Cheryl Lynn Mouton and husband Timothy Dean, Curry “Burk” Walker III, and Laura Anne Thomas, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her church family and numerous friends and relatives.
