The Sulphur Parks and Recreation (SPAR) Board unanimously voted in favor of the Center Circle Park Master Plan presented by Duplantis Design Group at the Sept. 20 regularly scheduled Board meeting.
The design includes a pool with zero entry lounging area, inclusive playground, community center, restrooms, pool house, splash pad and a host of other amenities.
Parts of the project expected to be completed in 2023 include the splashpad, inclusive playground, restrooms, pickleball courts and resurfacing of tennis courts. In 2024, the pool, lounging area, pool house and community center are expected to be completed.
“This plan has been in development over the last several months with community, Board, and Staff input,” said SPAR Director Laurie Koelzer. “The redesign aims to better reflect a role in community enrichment for a thriving park area that meets the needs of our district.
“Along with the new and enhanced amenities, the existing basketball pavilion will be undergoing maintenance and new fencing will be installed in areas throughout the park.”
