See the “Wienermobile.” Grab a hot dog.

Those are just two of the reasons to bring the family out to the City of Sulphur’s 12th Annual Stars & Stripes Classic Car Show Saturday, Oct. 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Heritage Square.

The Grove will be transformed into a wild car park of sorts for displaying almost 200 classic cars, muscle cars, vintage cars, hotrods, motorcycles, tactical law enforcement vehicles and more. One car will be deemed “Best of Show.”

Other tasty food choices at the event include jambalaya, boudin and ice cream.

Sulphur Parks and Recreation (SPAR) will host children’s games.

The “Wienermobile” was launched in 1936. Today’s models are shaped like a hot dog on a bun and used to promote Oscar Mayer products.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department Bearcat and will add to the fun especially for the children, according to Tommy Little, event coordinator and classic car owner and enthusiast.

Acadian Ambulance will have its fully restored and logoed 1972 Pontiac ambulance on site.

Admission to the event is free.
