MONROE — The fifth-ranked Sulphur Tor soccer team made history Monday night.
With a 1-0 win over No. 4 West Monroe (19-4-1), the Tors move on to the semifinals for the first time in program history.
The Tors (18-3-4) reached the quarterfinals in 2004, 2014, 2015 and 2022.
Senior Neil Dupre scored on a penalty kick midway through the second half, and goalkeeper Erick Zuniga made four saves.
The Tors will play the winner out of No. 1 Catholic-Baton Rouge (13-1-3) and No. 9 Dutchtown (11-3-6), who play today (Feb. 14). The Tors beat Catholic-BR in the regional round in 2014 and 2015.
